Dillon and the FPK9 team have exceeded expectations and have significantly contributed to making a good dog into a great dog and making me a more confident and competent pet owner. Jack, our sweet but impulsive two year old border collie mix has been back home for a month after completing a 6 week board and train with FPK9. Not a day goes by without receiving a compliment about Jack’s outdoor manners, (was he really that bad before!) Walking him is a pleasure and he is on his best behavior when meeting and greeting people. Indoors, his barking and door dashing have subsided and his listening skills greatly improved. With feedback and ongoing training from Dillon we have continued to work on our skills and commands at home. Known to retreat and hide from several trainers, from the initial assessment, Dillon differentiated himself and took the time to gain Jack’s trust, as well as mine. With Jack happily responding to Dillon, I knew FPK9 was the right decision for us. Under Dillon’s and the team’s guidance Jack learned to temper his behavior, be a more confident dog and I’m learning to be a better pet parent. The home setting and multiple training trips in public were invaluable to Jack learning to behave in a real world environment.
Dillon has impressive training knowledge, is an attentive listener, and effective communicator. He provides useful and practical solutions and treated both Jack and myself with kindness. Entrusting someone with your family pet is not an easy decision. Dillon and the FPK9 team made it a positive experience. Jack was treated with care and compassion, and afforded plenty of attention while learning new skills. During his boarding, Dillon kept me apprised with sweet pictures and updates. Periodic visits afforded me the ability to witness Jack’s progress as well as how well cared for he was. Jack’s rapport with Dillon and the FPK9 team was nothing but positive and endearing. Similarly Dillon trained me to work with Jack. His candor and guidance on point and his sense of humor helps when as a pet parent I may have stumbled. If you’re looking for a trainer that understands both you and your dog, I highly recommend Dillon and FPK9. Jack and our family are in a better place as a result of Dillon and FPK9’s efforts.
