Do you know who Freckle Butt Fred is?
Freckle Butt Fred is a miniature horse trained as a service and therapy animal. Being a dual certified horse he was permitted on the plane by his owner, Ronica Froese of Croton, Michigan.
But this could be the last time he is allowed on the plane.
The Department of Transportation has issued a proposal which would restrict service animals to dogs only.
Have you noticed how confusing the whole subject has become?
Service dogs, therapy dogs, emotional support dogs, what’s the difference?
This past Saturday, I had a meeting with Westport Police to discuss training for their School Resource Officer’s dog at the high school because they were not sure what type of dog training they would need.
Every week I get calls from dog owners asking about this type of dog training.
Which is why I decided to put together a workshop explaining the difference between service, therapy, and emotional support training for dogs.
I will explain what the difference is and what training is required.
I will also recommend where you can go for this type of training if you are interested. So if you have ever considered doing therapy dog work with your dog, this is the workshop for you.
And… the best part?
