Friend, leaving Your Pup To Their Own Designs Will Get You In Trouble.

My number one thing that I tell people not to do is don’t “just let them be”

Don’t just let your dog in your house unsupervised.

That’s the number one issue I see dog owners doing.

The pup IS going to get in trouble.

Let’s compare them to children for a sec…

It’s like leaving a toddler in a kitchen filled of cabinets that they can just help themselves to.

You would never do that.

Right?

So leaving your dog in your house is similar to that where they’re just left to their own devices and they’re going to find wherever they can find to do.

Sometimes that’s going to be peeing on the rug, or digging up the carpet, or chewing up your brand new shoes.

Then you get upset, but your dog is just trying to keep themselves entertained and mentally stimulated.

They don’t understand that this is a problem.

The same thing holds true for outside as well.

That’s a big big big issue where people think “oh my yard is fenced in I can just let my dog outside.”

But if their dog hasn’t been trained out there they’re going to get into all kinds of trouble.

We see this all the time.

They’re going to dig all over the yard.

They’re going to eat all of the roses.

They’re going to bark all day long (You know the neighbors just love that!)

They’re going to fence fight.

There’s so many different things that can go wrong if you were just leaving your dog unattended.

When your dog is in their learning phase, which is the younger years, they need to have that constant supervision.

Again just like you would with a toddler.

You watch your kids like a hawk up until a certain age.

It makes sense to do this for years and years and years with your children but people don’t realize the same holds true for your dog.

Keep them with you, supervise them, have a leash on them, and/or crate train them if you can’t be around all the time.

It seem like a lot of work, but I promise you the little bit of time you spend now will save you years and years of frustration.

Talk soon,

Stacy
